Loving Kindness

Here is some valuable information for anyone wanting to achieve optimal health:

The Loving Kindness exercise:  When practicing the loving kindness exercise, I found it very easy when I had to focus on someone I loved very much.  Initially  it was difficult to think of someone I had a disagreement with with kind thoughts.  After several days of practice I began to empathize with that person and I started to feel better about the situation.

At this point I would like to introduce you to the concept of the mental workout.  A mental workout is an exercise in simplicity and quieting the mind.  It is an exercise in focus and getting away from all of the random thoughts we all have.   Research indicates that one of the proven benefits of a mental workout is the ability of the body to heal itself both mentally and physically.  This has been proven in studies.  The best time to implement a mental workout for me is first thing in the morning and once at night.  The morning workout puts me in the right frame of mind to deal with any situation.  The evening workout helps me to prepare my body to rest.  What time of day would you implement a mental workout?

  1. I really likes the loving kindness exercise as well. It was definitely easier to focus the third time I tried it. I think it did my good to be able to empathize with a person that I really have differing opinions with, which makes it hard for us to get along. Hopefully some positiveness from the exercise with overflow into our strained relationship.

    Thanks,

  2. Hey Kelby you responded to my post of Living Kindness and I wanted to let you know that your advice was appreciated and really helped using your wife's idea of writing a list before bedtime of things to do tomorrow and then trying the exercise of Loving Kindness in the morning really helped me to clear the clutter from my thoughts to be able to focus on the exercise.. Thanks for the help.
